राजे लढायांसाठी लक्षात राहतात. शिवाजी महाराज लढाई थांबल्यावर त्यांनी जे उभे केले त्यासाठीही लक्षात राहतात.Kings are remembered for battles. Shivaji Maharaj is also remembered for what he built when the fighting stopped.
१ · राजमुद्राI · The Rajmudra
वाढत जाण्याचे वचन देणारी मुद्रा.A seal that promised to grow.
त्या काळची दरबारी भाषा फारसी होती, पण शिवरायांची राजमुद्रा संस्कृतमध्ये होती. ती त्यांच्या राज्याची तुलना प्रतिपदेच्या चंद्रकोरीशी करते — आज लहान, पण जग वंदन करेपर्यंत वाढत जाणारी.Shivaji’s royal seal was written not in Persian, the court language of the age, but in Sanskrit. It compares his rule to the thin moon of the first night — small now, but bound to wax until the world honours it.

आठ जणांचे मंडळ.A council of eight.
१६७४ च्या राज्याभिषेकानंतर शिवरायांनी आठ मंत्र्यांच्या मंडळामार्फत कारभार केला; प्रत्येकाचे काम ठरलेले. राज्यकारभारात संस्कृत व मराठी शब्द आणण्यासाठी त्यांनी “राज्यव्यवहारकोश” हा शब्दकोशही तयार करवून घेतला.Crowned in 1674, Shivaji governed through eight ministers, each with a clear duty. He also had a dictionary of state terms — the Rajvyavahar Kosh — compiled to bring Sanskrit and Marathi words into the work of government.
४ · रयतIV · The people
“रयतेच्या भाजीच्या देठालाही हात लावू नका.”
“Do not touch even the stalk of a farmer’s vegetable.”
सैन्याला दिलेला हा आदेश महाराष्ट्र असाच आठवतो. त्यांच्या उपलब्ध पत्रांत सैनिकांनी जे घेतील त्याचा मोबदला द्यावा आणि शेतकऱ्यांना कधीही त्रास देऊ नये, असे सांगितले आहे — स्वराज्य म्हणजे रयतेचे स्वतःचे राज्य.So Maharashtra remembers his order to the army. His surviving letters tell soldiers to pay for what they take and never to trouble the farmers — Swarajya was meant to be the people’s own rule.
